Our New Home

I realize we have been in our new home for a little while now and some of you have wanted to see proof of the fact.  We are slowly getting settled and I finally got some paint on the walls.

We love these chairs our realtor gave us and Matt made the planter...I was impressed.

The new dinning room color.  I look forward to getting our new table.

This is the view from the dinning room. This is the cleanest it has been in a while.

The view when you first walk in the front door.

These are the the grates all throughout the house. I love the character.

The newly painted fireplace.

The sunroom/playroom. Wanting to paint this too..any ideas?

My man working on the new wall in the kids room.

Kids room in progress.

M1's side

M2's side

This is where M2 has been sleeping (my closet). He loves it and sleeps so good.

Our bed around

The other half of our room.

Well, that is the first tour. I will post more as the progress continues. I did not include the pics of the guest room because it is not picture worthy yet; I will get there.  For the time being I hope you liked the tour.

15 Months and Counting

M2 is now 15 months old. I have not given a monthly update on him in a while.  He is doing great and loving to sleep..which is a big change from his baby days.

This was just captures his personality. This is the messiest he has ever gotten.

~ He is about 20 lbs. and 30 inches
~ Now has 6 teeth
~ Still not walking or crawling..he likes to cruise around on everything and wants to hold my hands all the time. I am so ready for him to take  off by himself. I am sure he will in time.
~ To get around he scooches around on his bottom everywhere.
~ He is sleeping 12-14 hrs at night and still takes two naps a day...crazy boy.
~ He eats about 3x the amount of food compared to his sister.
~ He loves dogs and gets so excited if ones gets into his line of sight.  His first word was "da" for dog.
~ He loves music and starts dancing whenever he hears any.

These are a few of the new things he is doing and his "talking" is expanding by the day.

Better Pics

I was able to get the pictures from my friend that took pictures of the kids a little bit ago. Here are some of my favorites:
Enjoy!

He looks like he doesn't like it very much.

A Project Completed

I had started this project probably two months ago when I started collecting cans. I needed 8 and it took me a while to actually remember to save them. Yes, we did move them into our new home. I had to get this project done. I had all of the supplies I would need: cans, paint and the brushes. We realized that we even had wood I could use in our new garage that the previous owners left. So, I was all set to go.
M1 helped me paint the cans ( I wish I had taken some pics of her while painting, but alas I did not).
I had found this idea on another blog..I am sorry that I do not remember which one. It was fun doing something with M1 and for her to see something finished that she helped make.

Iwas very surprised how many browns are in a box. I probably should have put yellow and orange together as well. That is okay..I am very happy with the end product and M1 seems to like it too.

Getting settled

We are in our new home and enjoying that it is all ours. What an exciting time!
It has not all been "peaches and cream." Moving is hard and after 6 moves in less than 8 years of marriage you would think that we would be pros. Well, we are (kinda).  Moving with a one year old is not fun..it is HARD!  The little man is wanting to walk (with help) all of the time. The great thing is that he is sleeping great (in my closet). Yes, he is sleeping in there because we are going to put up a wall in the kid's room to separate the space...it is a large room. I am excited to get that going.

There are a lot of things on the "to-do" list that seems to just get longer the more I am in the space.  I want to make this home one that I love to be in and that is a welcomed place for friends and family to visit.  There is some things to do..nothing major but no matter how minor, it is still work.

Here are some pics to satisfy you:
We got to see some old friends and we got caught in a bad storm so we came to our house and got dried off.

Friend, Kristin, her daughter (in Sam's pi's) and her son.  It was fun to see them even if it was two days after we moved.

Chick-fil-a had a princess night (it was crazy!!).  We still had a pretty good time and it is always
nice to get some free food.

M2's first loopy pop. It still had the wrapper on it,
but his two teeth made a rip and he got the taste out of it.

I will be trying to take more pics now that we are settled (mostly).  And I think we will be having some fun too.

My camera sd card broke!!

It has been a long time since I have posted. I am sorry about that.. I am sick about my card being broken. I have pictures on it from M2's 1st birthday and our trip to the outer banks last month. I am SICK about it.

Since I don't have my own pics from M2's bday party my friend took some of the kids for me (M1 is 4, and M2 just turned 1).

These are showing up too great..I still have to get the hard copy from her. You get the gist though..they are cute.
More to come.

In a Week

This last week has been a lot of fun and we have had some crazy weather here. We have discovered that St. Louis is not very consistent and it can be frustrating.

Last weekend we were able to host some friends from our past. One of our friends from our Philadelphia days and her newer husband (whom we had not met) are moving here this summer. I was so excited to see her and meet her hubby. What fun to catch up and she is one of those friends that you can just pick-up where we ended 4 years ago. We showed them around STL and they figured out where they want to live..very productive. Here is what happened the last day they were with us:
Our pretty blooming bush.

The snow was really wet and sticky so it made for great snowballs.

We ended up with 2+ inches!  A few days before this happened Matt asked me, "Do you think we can put away our winter coats?"  "Sure", I said. I think we were a little too hopeful.
Ryan and Sarah with M1. It was nice going out to eat even if it was wet and sticky outside.
Then 8 short days later here we were yesterday in 80 degree weather!

On a picnic in Forest Park with Kayla and Cam. It was beautiful.
The Art Museum
I love this picture! It captures him very well.  Can't believe my little man turns 1 this week.
More on him later in the week.
