Cousin is a mommy

Welcome Amelia Shuping!! my cousin (who's pic is in previous entry) had her Monday night and she looks beautiful, at least she has some hair--must be from our side of the family. Congrates to Caroline and Ryan as they are new parents.
it is crazy that matt and i are not too far behind them. i am starting to freak out a little bit, but i know that God is with us. we are now 30 weeks! that means we could have a baby in 8 weeks--wow!!!
matt is on call at the hospital tonight and i am glad that he will be on ER next month because it is set hours; it will be a nice change. now i am starting to think of ideas for Christmas present for him--anyone have any ideas? And i have to think of his birthday as well...that is why i hope we don't go early--i would rather not have two birthdays right after Christmas to think about. If anyone has anything good to suggest please chime in.

It's about time Matt wrote something

Hi everyone, this is Matt and I have been wanting to write for some time now. I have really enjoyed reading other people's blogs over the past 2 years, but I didn't really want one.... I was afraid I couldn't keep up with it. Now that Katie has started it I figured I have no excuse, so here we go.

What am I doing this week: I am finishing my last week of Pediatrics, I have been working on a busy inpatient floor. It has been hard work but good. Yesterday, I got my first opportunity to put a needle into a patients spine to remove fluid, and thankfully we got clear fluid and she did not have meningitis.

What am I currently reading: 25 Most Treasured Gospel Hymn Stories, a historical look at some popular hymns and why they were written.

At Home: Katie and I are getting more serious about the baby coming and we are getting the room ready. We are also continuing to put up more pictures and I have some new plants that I am looking to put in the house.

Sports Commentary: I love listening to PTI on my ipod. The Steelers stink. The Cowboys are way better than they should be, and I look like a fool for making fun of Tony Romo. Our local high school football team lost last week in the playoffs, which was disappointing; I have been working with them on the sideline.

What I miss about Philadelphia: Tenth church, lots of people, Wissahickon park, and fancy Beer that was served at Monk's Belgian Cafe.

Interesting history fact: the Harlem Globetrotters started in the 1920's before the NBA was founded and they never played in Harlem until 1940; they were actually based in Chicago. Some famous people who had been reported to play for the trotters: Wilt, Connie Hawkins, George "Meadowlark" Lemon, John Chaney (Temple owls) and last but not least, Bill Cosby.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a good day at home. Mom and I watched the parade while dad and matt put together the crib--it looks really nice. Matt was surprised that he liked it too!!! We went to the Director of Matt's program for Thanksgiving dinner with about 15 other people from the program. It was nice to be with them and for my parents to have some time with them as well. The most exciting part of the night was when Kaleb (3 years old) fell into the Leibert's pool; he was really good though and grabed the side of the pool--it scared his mother and me since we were outside with him. That was the third time that he has done that--and he is perfectly fine now. Here are some pics of us doing a puzzle and my parents.

Pics and NC!!

Here are some pics that i posted on the last blog: but i like them so much i wanted them on here as well.

NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!
These next pics are from my surprise trip to watch Brantley and Palmer (brother's kids) for 5 days. We had a lot of fun together and aunt Katie loved having that time with them even if she was a little tired afterwards. We got to go paint some pottery together-Palmer did a very "colorful" dog and Brantley did a "G" for Goins (last name).

We went to the park almost every day. Palmer loves it and aunt Katie loved the trees.

The last picture is of me and my cousin, Caroline who is 10 weeks ahead of me. She will have a new baby girl in her home next week!! we are so excited that we have reconnected with each other and that are babies will be so close in age (like we were).
It was a wonderful trip and I also got to see our
friends from college, John and Kristen, with their new baby girl, Natalie. Wow!! i was busy.
